Data and Evaluation
Our Approach
We conduct robust research and data collection and uncover the stories—and the possibilities—behind the numbers. Evaluation is a process that critically examines a program. It involves collecting and analyzing information about a program’s activities, characteristics, and outcomes. Its purpose is to make judgments about a program, to improve its effectiveness, and/or to inform programming decisions (Patton, 1987). Health related initiatives and policies can do more for people when they are built on and guided by evidence and sound principals. This requires gathering and analyzing data.
Our approach to evaluation is participatory-based to ensure utility, feasibility, and relevancy of evaluation activities and findings, and to promote capacity building and sustainability in evaluation and monitoring strategies. Evaluation design and methods are customized to meet program priorities and resources, and utilize mixed methods when possible to involve qualitative and quantitative data. We work closely with clients to jointly solve problems, and we recognize and build on the strengths and specialized knowledge of our clients.
