This workshop will examine how the loss of a client/participant to overdose or suicide may impact treatment providers, recovery support providers, and other care-givers, as well as the ethical and clinical issues to consider when providing post-vention support and response.
This session will unmask the reality of SUDs in older adults, review health and social circumstances that facilitate SUD development as people age, and explain why the use of alcohol and other drugs is particularly dangerous in this population.
