DESCRIPTION:There are many times when clinical practice with clients who have lived experience with mental health and substance use concerns present unique ethical challenges.  These types of challenges are most effectively and efficiently responded to by clinical staff that understand ethical principles and decision making.  This training will provide content regarding common types of ethical decision making and ethical dilemmas.  Ethical issues that are not resolved satisfactorily by utilizing reflective practice skills and the application of professional codes of ethics coupled with a viable ethical decision-making model run the risk of not serving the best interests of all parties.  This training will provide the needed knowledge base to help clinical staff feel more confident in the decisions that they make to resolve ethical dilemmas.

DESCRIPTION:This six-hour training is designed for clinicians at any experience level seeking to improve their understanding of how THC use affects the central nervous system and the entire body. During this training\, participants will learn about the Pleasure and Reward neural pathways\, and how THC acts on specific areas of the Brain. Special emphasis will be placed on up-to-date data showing how THC interacts with bipolar disorder and psychotic disorder diagnoses.

SUMMARY:Women in Recovery Specialty Online Training Series: Adapting and Addressing Tobacco Use with Telehealth for the Pregnant Population
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will address components of tobacco use and treatment for the pregnant and postpartum population. The first segment will include an overview of the latest research on tobacco use within the pregnant population and the negative impact of tobacco use on specific social and racial groups. The second section will describe an evidenced-based\, prenatal postpartum program that has shown positive results within 22 states by reducing tobacco use during and after pregnancy\, especially within the low socioeconomic population.
